Sporting their cool new 2008 pre-season all blacks with four stars over the logo, the Seattle Sounders took the pitch for their first warm-up match last night at Starfire.

The Vancouver Whitecaps came out on top 2-1. The Sounders used a large number of trialists in the second half.

The day of soccer began with open tryouts at 2:00 PM. The fan / player meet and greet started at 4:30. The exhibition match kicked off at 7:00 PM

A gathering of 752 fans took in the action on what turned out to be a very nice day. Roger Levesque scored Seattle's only goal off of a corner kick from trialist Jesus Mendoza.

See footage from all the events, and Roger's goal in the www.GOALSeattle.com video below.

The boys looked like it was their first organized match against opposition for much of the night. Vancouver dominated throughout and Seattle had few good chances. Jesus Mendoza, a former Club America and Mexico National Team striker, looked good when the other guys could get him the ball.

It was 1-1 at the half before the Sounders mixed a couple of starters with a boatload of trialists. The final score of 2-1 flattered Seattle as the Whitecaps had numerous chances to make the margin larger.
